Multiple housing studies and surveys conducted privately and at both institutions indicate a lack of suitable housing options for job applicants seeking employment, making the inclusion of new housing units targeted specifically to professionals a critical component of the overall revitalization strategy for The Village. The redevelopment of Site Two will position these critical anchor institutions to offer higher quality, proximate, amenity-rich professional housing options that do not currently exist and allow them to compete with other organizations in the recruitment and retention of skilled professionals and their families to Muncie.
